Paris Hilton Buys Oceanfront Malibu Seashore Retreat for $8.4 Million

Paris Hilton added a sleek new Malibu beach home to her real estate portfolio.
Heiress, reality television pioneer, DJ  and acclaimed chef Paris Hilton is expanding her home horizons in California. Hilton, who announced her engagement to Carter Reum earlier this year, has scooped up a Malibu beach retreat.
Hilton and Reum paid $8.4 million for the two-story oceanfront getaway, reports Variety, and it seems they’ve already made themselves right at home, as the early aughts style icon apparently filmed a promo clip for her Netflix show, Cooking With Paris, in her new kitchen.

The 2,968-square-foot abode is positioned right on La Costa beach. There are stone-tiled floors, recessed lighting and floor-to-ceiling glass walls throughout, so there’s nothing to impede the very impressive ocean views.
Paris Hilton and Carter Reum announced their engagement earlier this year.
The aforementioned kitchen, which already made its television debut, is equipped with white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The living room contains a fireplace, and is adjacent to a dining nook.
All three of the bedrooms are situated on the second floor of the home, including the owner’s suite, which is outfitted with wood floors, a fireplace and a stone-tiled bathroom with a built-in tub and double vanities. It also has access to two oceanfront balconies, one of which has a hot tub.
There are wraparound windows and decks on two levels of the home, as well as an outdoor shower, per the listing shared by Compass brokers Chris Cortazzo and Ali Gagerman. Stairs from the house lead directly down to the beach below.
Hilton recently disclosed on The Tonight Show that the wedding planning process has been “very stressful” and that her upcoming nuptials will be a three-day affair, for which she would like to wear 10 different dresses, so luckily she now has this very relaxing Malibu retreat at which she can decompress. The heiress also owns a mansion in the Mulholland Estates gated community in Los Angeles, for which she paid $5.9 million in 2007, as well as an apartment in New York’s Noho neighborhood, which she purchased for $4.9 million in 2014.

After eight years, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are ready to move on from their Harlem brownstone. The couple has listed their 8,000-square-foot New York home for sale, with a $7.33 million price tag attached.
Harris and Burtka purchased the 20-foot-wide Fifth Avenue townhouse for $3.58 million in 2013, and promptly embarked on a major renovation that included converting the property, which had previously been used as a bed-and-breakfast, into a single-family home.

Harris and Burtka brought in architect Jeffery Povero to complete the reno, which took over a year. They worked to restore many of the original details, including carved moldings, oak floors and tin ceilings, per the New York Times, while bringing the property up to date with modern amenities.

David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris have listed their custom-designed Harlem brownstone for sale.

“We both wanted to respect the history of the space, of the area, and yet make it feel contemporary and creative and accessible,” the Tony Award-winner told the New York Times.
The parlor floor features 12-foot ceilings and original wood wainscoting throughout, and includes a full music room as well as a lounge in the back, which is fitted with a gas fireplace and a vintage bar, which the couple sourced from an old hotel in Connecticut. Original double doors open to a 500-square-foot garden terrace, which is one of four private outdoor spaces at the home.
An ornate wood staircase leads to a living room and dining area, plus a sprawling kitchen that was expanded and upgraded during the renovation process; Burtka is a professionally-trained chef, so surely he had high standards for the room. It’s now equipped with custom grey-and-white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, a large island with a farmhouse sink, an oversized pantry and breakfast bar seating. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead to an outdoor deck, which has a built-in grill plus plenty of space for an outdoor dining moment.
The owner’s suite is outfitted with a gas fireplace, a custom walk-in closet and a five-fixture bathroom complete with marble floors, a walk-in shower and double vanity. The room also has access to a library and a private outdoor space with a jacuzzi.
Harris, like his How I Met Your Mother character Barney Stinson, is a magic enthusiast, and his private office on the top floor is only reachable via a trick door. Speaking of HIMYM, the home also contains the actual red booth from the fictional MacLaren’s Pub that was so beloved by the show’s characters.
The garden level is currently in use as a production office, per the listing shared by Compass brokers Vickey Barron and Pacey Barron, and includes a 10-seat home theater. The basement is configured with a wine cellar, a gym and a playroom that Burtka and Harris designed for their twins, Gideon and Harper. A fully furnished roof deck sits atop the home, with a built-in barbecue, dining table, wood pergola and irrigation system.
As for why the couple decided now is the time part with their eclectic New York home? Harris told the New York Times that the family is now primarily residing in East Hampton, where they purchased a sprawling 13.5-acre estate for $5.5 million back in 2017.

The Weeknd Paid $70 Million for a Palatial Bel Air Mansion

The Weeknd paid a hefty $70 million for a sprawling mansion in Bel Air.
It didn’t take The Weeknd long to find his dream home. The musician, who sold his Hidden Hills home to none other than Madonna back in April, has now paid a staggering $70 million for a palatial Bel Air mansion.
The Weeknd (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) scooped up his new 1.6-acre estate from Dutch media mogul Reinout Oerlemans and his wife, Danielle, in an off-market deal, reports the Wall Street Journal. The Oerlemans told the outlet that they weren’t looking to sell the home until Beverly Hills Estates agents Rayni and Branden Williams contacted them about showing the residence to The Weeknd.

The Oerlemans, who purchased the Los Angeles home for $21.44 million in 2015, weren’t initially convinced they should part with the sprawling property, but eventually decided to sell to the Grammy-winning singer.
The couple completed a major renovation during their ownership; Danielle Oerlemans entirely redesigned the interiors, and added an additional 13,000 square feet in order to create room for a spa and other accoutrements. The Bel Air abode now spans approximately 33,000 square feet, with nine bedrooms spread out among the three floors.
A formal living room contains a fireplace encased in floor-to-ceiling marble, as well as multiple sets of French doors that lead to the backyard. The sleek kitchen is equipped with marble countertops, a large center island and copper cabinets with handles that are made out of leather belts. There’s also a formal dining room, with coffered ceilings and a fireplace.
The lower level of the house is comprised of multiple guest bedrooms, a movie theater and a full bar, as well as the very crucial wellness center, which includes an indoor swimming pool, a hammam and a spa with a sauna. There’s also 10-car garage, just in case the rather oversized motor court doesn’t have enough space for all the automobiles.
Outside, an infinity-edge pool on the main level waterfalls down to the garden and motor court below.
It’s not clear if The Weeknd has moved into his new mansion just yet, but he does still have a second home elsewhere in Los Angeles, as he still maintains an 8,215-square-foot penthouse, which he purchased for $25 million back in 2019.

Michelle Pfeiffer and David E. Kelley Already Bought Their Pacific Palisades Mansion for $25 Million

David E. Kelley and Michelle Pfeiffer scored a quick sale in Pacific Palisades.
It’s been less than two years since Michelle Pfeiffer and David E. Kelley paid $23.23 million for a palatial Pacific Palisades home, but the longtime couple has already decided to part ways with the estate. The Academy Award-nominated actress and her Emmy Award-winning producer husband listed the Mediterranean-style mansion for sale just last month, and now they’ve sold the house for their exact asking price of $25 million.
The seven-bedroom, 10.5-bathroom residence was brand-new when Pfeiffer and Kelley bought it, per the Los Angeles Times, and it doesn’t look like the couple completed any work or renovations during their rather brief ownership.

A vaulted entry leads into the 10,329-square-foot California home. The airy great room features wood-beamed ceilings and a wall of windows, as well as a stone accent wall and a fireplace.
The kitchen is equipped with marble countertops, stainless steel appliances, wood cabinetry, breakfast bar seating and two islands, and is open to a cozy family room. There’s also a formal dining room, as well as a study with a carved stone fireplace and built-in bookshelves.
The owner’s suite is situated on the second floor, and is outfitted with French doors and a fireplace, plus two bathrooms, per the listing held by Compass broker Cindy Ambuehl.

Most of the entertaining spaces on the main level have direct access to the backyard via French doors; there’s plenty of al fresco dining space and outdoor seating, in addition to an infinity-edge pool.
The basement is fully finished, with a large temperature-controlled wine cellar, a screening room, and two guest suites.
Pfeiffer and Kelley have owned quite at least three homes Pacific Palisades over the years, and they’re still trying to offload a four-bedroom property they purchased for $7.7 million back in 2018. Alas, it seems they haven’t had the best luck with that particular residence, as it’s currently listed for $7.3 million, which would mean a significant $400,000 loss for the couple.

Jeff Bezos Paid $23 Million for But One other Fifth Avenue Condo

Jeff Bezos is building a mansion in the sky in New York.
Even though nearly 200,000 internet trolls signed a petition to prevent Jeff Bezos from returning to Earth after Blue Origin’s inaugural flight last month, the Amazon founder and executive chairman did, indeed, safely land from his spaceflight on July 20.
Aside from embarking on his first-ever space adventure and getting into big disputes with NASA, the billionaire has also been keeping busy creating a truly palatial mansion in the sky in New York. Bezos just purchased yet another sleek apartment at 212 Fifth Avenue, the same building where he already owns a three-story penthouse as well as the three units directly below.

Bezos paid precisely $23 million for his latest 4,155-square-foot apartment on the 20th floor of the Flatiron condominium, according to the New York Post. Bezos reportedly reached a deal for the four-bedroom, four-bathroom aerie in July, and closed earlier this month.
A foyer with coffered ceilings and marble floor leads into the apartment. There are high ceilings and solid hardwood floors throughout, as well as plenty of gallery walls to display artwork.
212 Fifth Avenue.
The kitchen is equipped with Gaggenau appliances, milled wood cabinetry and Calacatta marble countertops, as well as a large center island and built-in seating nook. It’s open to a dining area.
The owner’s suite contains a bathroom with radiant heated stone floors, Carrara marble walls, a freestanding tub and a steam shower, with Waterworks fixtures. There’s also a large walk-in closet.
Bezos’s newest real estate acquisition brings his spending total in the 24-story building to a staggering $119 million, which is an absolutely obscene amount of money but apparently doesn’t put much of a dent in the bank account of a man who is worth over $190 billion.
While it’s not entirely certain what Bezos plans to do with his *five* apartments in the ritzy building, he previously filed permits to combine at least three of the units, so it seems likely that the billionaire is creating a ridiculously over-the-top five-story mansion in the sky. Sure, it might not be the same view as from the Blue Origin flight (which were apparently somewhat subpar), but the New York City vistas are still quite nice.

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber Bought Their Beverly Hills Mansion for $13.5 Million

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber bid adieu to their Beverly Hills home.
It took almost a year, but Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber have now parted ways with their midcentury modern Beverly Hills home. The supermodel and her businessman husband (he’s one of the cofounders of Casamigos) sold the five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom estate for $13.5 million to WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum, who happens to own a neighboring home, reports Variety.
The final sales price isn’t quite the $16 million that Crawford and Gerber were hoping for when they initially listed the home for sale last August, it’s still a profit from the $11.6 million they paid OneRepublic musician Ryan Tedder for the home back in September 2017.

It doesn’t look like Crawford and Gerber have done much work to the single-story home over the past four years, though the property was extensively restored and remodeled during Tedder’s ownership.
There are high ceilings and walls of glass throughout the airy home, with plenty of sliding doors. The large double living room features a floor-to-ceiling fireplace that separates the more formal entertaining space from an enclave with a marble wet bar and lounge.
The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, white cabinetry and a large marble center island, with breakfast bar seating. It’s open to another family room, per the listing held by Westside Estate Agency broker Kurt Rappaport.
Nearly every room in the home has direct access to the backyard, where there’s an outdoor living area complete with many an al fresco lounging and dining space, in addition to a built-in fire pit. There’s also a pool and spa.

Crawford previously told Architectural Digest that she and her husband, who primarily reside in Malibu, decided to purchase this Beverly Hills home because their children, Kaia and Presley Gerber, were getting older and thought it was “so boring” in Malibu, and wanted to be more centrally located in the city. Alas, it seems they must have changed their minds, as it doesn’t look like the genetically blessed family has bought another home in Los Angeles just yet.
For now, though, the couple continues to own the Malibu mansion that serves as their main residence, in addition to a $5.4 million four-bedroom La Quinta getaway, a $3 million condo in Miami and a cottage in Canada.
