Greatest low cost air fryer offers for August 2021: Instantaneous Pot, Ninja, and Sprint

The continued popularity of cheap air fryer deals isn’t for cooking wings and fries. Air fryers use only a fraction of the cooking oil needed for deep frying. Often a few squirts of an oil-based cooking spray are all you’ll need. We found excellent air fryer sales from Instant Pot,  Proscenic, Dash, Ninja, and more. If you’re wondering about air frying and convection cooking (they both cook with hot air), we cover that, too, below the deals. You probably clicked on this post to see the best air fryer deals, so scroll down to find them.
Today’s best air fryer deals

How do I choose the right air fryer?
With the growth of air fryer popularity, the variety of models on the market has grown to the point that choosing the best model for your kitchen can be confusing. The primary considerations in shopping for an air fryer are capacity, controls, added air frying features, and additional cooking functions.
In general, you’ll find air fryer baskets that range from about 3 quarts to 6 quarts. For a single person or a couple or if you want to heat some wings and fries, smaller is just fine. If you’re going to be preparing dishes and full meals for a family with an air fryer, even if only once in a while, buy a larger model.
Air fryers with manual controls usually have two settings: Cooking temperature and cooking time.  As long as you know the desired settings, turn the dials to the proper temperature and time and let it cook. Digital air fryers are usually pretty easy to use, but they are more complicated than manual models. If the fryer you’re looking at also roasts, bakes, broils, dehydrates, and more, chances are it will have a digital control panel, often with several presets for various cooking modes or types of food.
Single-purpose air fryers do one type of cooking. If you already have a countertop full of other appliances, including a toaster, convection oven, and perhaps an indoor grill, a multifunction air fryer is just duplication. If, on the other hand, counter space is at a premium in your kitchen, a multifunction model is a smart buy because one appliance can serve several purposes. One common and desirable feature for air fryers is the ability to crisp the outside of food. Typically crisping is the last step in the air frying process and may require a separate add-on component.  Because traditional deep-fried foods usually have crispy exteriors, an air fryer with a crisping function isn’t considered a multifunctional cooker. It’s just a complete air fryer.
As you saw above, you can spend from $50  to $200 or more for air fryers. Larger models with digital controls and multiple cooking functions cost more than smaller air fryers with manual controls solely for air frying time and temperature.
Is air frying the same as convection cooking?
Air fryers have become so popular in the past few years you wouldn’t be alone in thinking it’s a new cooking technology. The core technology for air frying has been used in cooking for more than 70 years. It was and still is called convection cooking. Air fryers and convection ovens both cook food by using fans to circulate hot air.
While the underlying technology is identical, the implementations differ, at least in their purest senses. A simple air fryer usually resembles a squat cylinder. Convection ovens generally have a rectangular shape with a door that opens in the front to reveal one or more removable trays. Food cooked in an air fryer sits on a rack on the bottom of a removable basket. You put food on trays or shelves to cook in convection ovens.
Convection ovens generally have a larger capacity than air fryers so the ovens can hold more food to cook at the same time. Because air fryers don’t have to fill as much space with hot moving air, air fryers usually cook food faster than convection ovens. Often, air fryers are louder than convection ovens they use fans to circulate hot air around the cooking area.
You can find multifunction cookers that claim to be both air fryers and convection ovens. Based on the size and shape, you can tell which of the two variations on the same them the device more closely resembles. Both forms often have settings for baking, roasting, broiling, and dehydrating food, but at heart, they’re either an air fryer or a convection oven.

Apple Watch
Julian Chokkattu/Digital Trends
The Apple Watch Series 1, Series 2, and Apple Watch Series 4 were discontinued as well in favor of the Apple Watch Series 5 in 2019. In 2020, during its September event, the Series 6 debuted along with other sought-after products such as the iPhone 12. Now, is the Series 6 worth buying? We think so, the Apple Watch Series 6 is most complete smartwatch you can buy. Starting at $399, the Series 6 measures your blood oxygen levels, features a brighter screen for outside use, and even has a tracking family-tracking feature so you won’t lose each other in a shopping mall or an amusement park, for example. Also, the Series 6’s A13 main processing chip is 20% faster than earlier models.
If you’re not ready to shell out the big bucks, the Apple Watch Series 3 is your best affordable option for an Apple Watch. While it’s three generations old, it’s still one of the top smartwatches on the market and not much different from the Apple Watch Series 4. You can use it to send and receive messages via Bluetooth, keep up with your social media accounts, and track your workouts with the built-in GPS. The new Apple Watch SE is the Series 3 successor for new, more affordable smart watches.
Samsung Gear S3 Frontier
Not everyone is obsessed with Apple and iOS. For the rest of us who are agnostic as to the operating system or are fans of Android, this discount is worthwhile. One of our favorite deals is from Samsung, and it’s a solid favorite of ours. The great-looking Gear S3 boasts a classic yet utilitarian build, thanks to its gunmetal gray steel case and thick rubber or leather wrist strap. Tough Gorilla Glass protects the touchscreen face, and the case features military-grade protection from dust, moisture, and impacts.
The Gear S3 also has a rotating bezel you can use to scroll through apps, notifications, and more. Like other options, it wirelessly syncs with your phone, and the S3 also has a heart rate monitor, along with a variety of health-tracking functions. The rugged Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is available for $250 from Amazon and works great for any Samsung lovers out there. And if you’re looking for a cheaper option the renewed Samsung Gear S3 Frontier smartwatch is available for under $200 at Amazon.
Samsung Gear Sport

If you want a fitness watch with a more classic look, on the other hand, check out the excellent Samsung Gear Sport, which helps keep track of your daily activity levels, heart rate, and more. This Samsung smartwatch uses a wide range of tracking sensors to monitor your activity levels, including steps taken closely, calories burned, heart rate, and sleep quality. It can even automatically identify different types of physical activities such as running, swimming, and cycling. The smartwatch is water-resistant at depths of up to 164 feet and features a curved, full-color super AMOLED screen that displays real-time activity stats, along with texts and other alerts, from your iOS or Android smartphone.
Built-in GPS gives you accurate real-time stats as well. The watch features the S Health app, which you can use to set goals, check leaderboards, challenge others to step competitions, and share workout results with just the touch of a button. The smartwatch also acts as a stand-alone music player, so you can store your favorite music on your Gear Sport or connect to your phone with Spotify to access millions of songs. Charging is easy with the included cradle.
Garmin Vívosmart HR

For a solid and affordable no-frills cheap Fitbit alternative, check out the health-based Garmin Vivosmart HR. This fitness tracker displays steps, distance, calories, and heart rate, along with text, call, email, calendar, and social media alerts. It also has an alarm clock. Easy to use, it reminds you to keep active via a move bar and vibration alert. It even has an integrated barometric altimeter that tracks when you take the stairs and measures your workout intensity so you can monitor your progress against weekly goals. (You won’t be able to make phone calls with this particular model, however.)
For detailed calorie tracking, you can create an account at MyFitnessPal and link it to your Garmin Connect account, which allows you to compare calories consumed to total calories burned, as well as compete in challenges with others. This pedometer smartwatch has a battery life of up to five days, as well as a convenient, non-intrusive touchscreen design.
Fitbit Blaze Special Edition

There are many different reasons for wanting a smartwatch, but if fitness tracking is at the top of your list, then a Fitbit wearable is what you need. Unlike other more simplified options from this venerable brand, like the Alta and Flex 2, the Blaze is more than just a smart pedometer. With this handy watch, you can track your resting heart rate, calories burned per day, flights of stairs climbed, and even use the sleep monitor to better understand your body needs. Fitbit offers a quick look at the day’s statistics and even allows you to track specific workouts like running, biking, weightlifting, and hamster-wheeling it on the treadmill.
As a Bluetooth smartwatch, the Fitbit Blaze is pretty standard. With a battery life of up to five days, built-in GPS, and smartphone functionality, it has all the tech you’d expect to see from one of the top brands on the market. Though the Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa have now succeeded this particular model, it’s still one of those smartwatches you can be proud to wear. If you’re looking for a fitness tracker at a lower price point, the all-black Blaze Special Edition is for you.
Amazfit Bip

The Amazfit Bip is one of the most affordable smartwatches on our roundup. If you’re looking for a super-affordable, no-nonsense budget smartwatch, consider the new Amazfit Bip. The rugged Bip ditches most bells and whistles in favor of a low-cost, no-frills sports watch design that’s perfect for active users looking for something more than your standard digital watch (think G-Shock with a heart rate monitor, a customizable face, and smart connectivity).
This cheap smartwatch is compatible with Android and iOS devices and can sync wirelessly with your phone to upload and track fitness metrics via the Mi Fit companion app. The case is dustproof and water-resistant, and, most impressively, the internal battery can last up to 30 days before needing a charge.
VTech Kidizoom DX2

If you know a young techie who would love his or her own smartwatch, then VTech’s Kidizoom DX2 is just the ticket. This cheap smartwatch wearable comes loaded with 55 digital and analog watch faces to teach kids how to tell time. There are also built-in wrist-based features like a pedometer, gyroscopic motion sensor for games, and two cameras for taking videos and photos. The included USB cable can be used to charge the watch, download new games and clock faces from the VTech Learning Lodge, and upload pics and video clips to your computer or SIM card.
The Kidizoom DX2 boasts a metal and rubber housing that helps it stand up to daily “kid use” and the bumps and drops that come with that. It’s affordable, too, making it one of the best cheap smartwatches for kids who want a watch of their own.
Ticwatch E

Mobvoi Ticwatch E is one of the most affordable smartwatches that you can buy, and it’s been a surprise hit. This budget-friendly wearable costs less than some fitness trackers yet boasts a full suite of Android Wear 2.0 functionality for use with a wide variety of great apps. It also features built-in support for Google Assistant, which allows you to reply to messages, ask questions, set reminders, and more using easy voice commands. It also has a decent battery life, but you will have to charge it for at least two hours before use. The Ticwatch does double duty as a fitness smartwatch, thanks to its built-in heart rate monitor and fitness tracker functions.
Fossil Gen 4 Q Venture HR

Here’s another great, classic-looking Fossil hybrid smartwatch that’s just for the ladies — the new Gen 4 Q Venture. Like the updated Fossil Explorist, this hybrid timepiece pairs a traditional watch case design with smart features, including fitness tracking and Bluetooth connectivity, along with new additions like a heart rate monitor and built-in GPS. Pair it with your iOS or Android device, and the Venture will notify you when you receive calls, texts, social media updates, and more. It can also give you at-a-glance tracking of your daily activity progress.
If you like the traditional aesthetics of the Explorist but prefer something a bit more feminine, then the Q Venture is an equally affordable alternative: You can score this great-looking hybrid smartwatch in a variety of colors and case/strap combinations.

Finest desktop monitor offers for August 2021

Every proper desktop work setup needs a high-quality monitor. Staring at a sub-par screen all day, every day will quickly turn into a headache (quite literally), as a lousy monitor can plague you with lag, inaccurate color output, poor viewing angles, screen-tearing, and other annoyances. The good news is that you don’t have to drain your checking account to get a good one nowadays. Today’s monitors — even cheap ones — sport all sorts of great modern features for less, and even more good news is that we’re here to save you some cash with this roundup of the best desktop monitor deals available this month.
These discounted displays feature everything from cheap 1080p work monitors to the latest ultrawide and 4K panels, but if you need something specifically for playing video games, then head over to our other roundup of gaming monitor deals.
Today’s best monitor deals

Full HD monitor deals

Any good monitor on the market today will have a resolution of at least 1080p (also known as “Full HD” or the abbreviated “FHD”), meaning that it features a vertical resolution of 1,080 pixels. This resolution dominates the 21- to 27-inch monitor category — any bigger than that and you’ll want to start looking at Quad HD (1440p) or 4K Ultra HD (2160p) – but for the vast majority of computing applications, 1080p is still a fine place to be.
If you’re simply looking for an affordable, no-nonsense monitor for a desktop workstation, a 1080p in the 21- to 27-inch range is more than likely what you’re after. The good news is that this is the cheapest type of monitor out there, particularly if you’re not interested in paying more for things like higher refresh rates or Vsync technologies (i.e. features you find on displays built for gaming). And with the above monitor deals, you might even be able to score a solid name-brand Full HD monitor for around 100 bucks or so.
Gaming monitor deals
Dan Baker/Digital Trends
Gamers tend to demand a lot more from their computer hardware than average users, and this applies as much to gaming monitors as it does to everything else. A lousy display will quickly put a damper on your gaming enjoyment, and along with screen size and resolution, you need to consider things like refresh rate and Vsync features that will allow your display to keep up with your GPU (even a PC with the strongest graphics card will experience stutter and lag if it’s connected to a sub-par monitor).
Once you’ve decided upon a size and resolution — 1080p Full HD, 1440p Quad HD, or 4K Ultra HD — you’ll want to look for a monitor with a refresh rate of around 144Hz. The refresh rate dictates framerate, and a minimum of 120Hz is necessary to smoothly enjoy gaming 60 frames per second. Anything less and you will very likely experience on-screen stuttering and lag. A good gaming monitor should also have either Nvidia G-Sync or AMD FreeSync technologies (go with whichever one matches your graphics card) which greatly mitigates or eliminates obnoxious and immersion-breaking screen-tearing.
You’ll pay a bit more for these technologies, but don’t go super-cheap when you’re looking for gaming monitor to complete your gaming PC. These are popular items that are regularly on sale, however, so definitely keep an eye on our gaming monitor deals page to save you some cash.
Curved and ultrawide monitor deals
Dan Baker/Digital Trends
Curved and ultrawide monitors are a relatively new thing in the world of desktop displays and could be a good alternative to traditional monitors and multi-monitor setups depending on your needs. The idea behind a curved panel is that the entire screen is directed toward the viewer’s eyes; admittedly, however, the advantages of curved displays are largely subjective and dependent upon each user’s preferences, so it might be a good idea to look at some in-person before deciding whether or not a curved monitor is really your speed.
On the other hand, the advantages of ultrawide monitors are obvious, and if you’re going for one of those, it’s almost certain that you’ll be looking at a curved design which is simply easier to view at super-widescreen resolutions. Just be prepared to pay for it: Ultrawide displays are the most expensive of the bunch, but if you find the right deal, it might be worth it — and could even save you money if you were considering buying two or three separate monitors instead.
Standard-sized curved displays aren’t often more expensive than their non-curved counterparts, though, so if you decide this style is right for you, then we’ve made sure to include a few curved screens in the above monitor deals to help you find the right one for your battle station.
4K Ultra HD Monitor Deals
Riley Young/Digital Trends
Ultra HD, more commonly known as “4K,” has pretty much become the standard for televisions now, but 4K monitors aren’t quite as common. That’s largely because PC displays are typically smaller than home televisions, but also because monitors are still considered peripherals and most people understandably don’t want to spend hundreds more on one – especially when the benefits of Ultra HD will be less notable on a smaller screen than they will on a big living room TV.
That said, you probably sit closer to your computer monitor than you do to your TV, and with the cost of 4K panels dropping drastically in recent years, now’s not a bad time to upgrade to a UHD display for your PC if you’re thinking about it. That’s especially true if you’ve built or are building a 4K-capable gaming machine. Along with ultrawide displays, 4K monitors are costly (as you’d expect), but they also provide some of the best opportunities for savings, so we’ll make sure to keep our deals list updated with any Ultra HD options that are available at the moment.

It was a good strategy: The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 has everything we love about the Pro 6 with some subtle improvements like a ninth-gen Ice Lake Intel Core CPU and the welcome addition of a high-speed USB-C port.
Along with those relatively minor (but very nice) upgrades, the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 still boasts that beautiful 3:2 PixelSense touchscreen and great build quality, and it also works beautifully with a Type Cover keyboard for pulling double duty as a 2-in-1 ultrabook laptop. One of our few gripes is that it still doesn’t come bundled with that keyboard cover, but Surface Pro deals and ongoing sales should help to alleviate that.
Microsoft Surface Pro X

Microsoft revealed two new Surface devices last year, launching the all-new Surface Pro X alongside the Surface Pro 7 refresh in late October and early November. The Pro 7 was just a small update of the mainline Surface Pro series, but the Microsoft Surface Pro X delivered the long-needed facelift that we’ve been waiting for: Most notably, Microsoft finally cut down those chunky bezels surrounding the display, which was one of our few persistent complaints with the regular Surface Pro models (including the newest Pro 7).
It’s not quite as fast as the Surface Pro 7 in terms of specs, but the main trade-off here is that the Microsoft Surface Pro X is thinner and lighter. In fact, it’s the slimmest Surface yet at just 0.2 inches, and those leaner bezels allow for more screen real estate with a larger 13-inch 1920p PixelSense touchscreen (for an extra 0.7 inches). The Surface Pro X is the complete package, but it’s also the most expensive new member of the Surface family, so savvy shoppers would be wise to hunt around for the numerous deals during seasonal sale events.
Microsoft Surface Go
Rich Shibley/Digital Trends
If we’ve whetted your appetite for these 2-in-1s but, for various reasons, you don’t want to dump a huge wad of cash for one of the Surface Pro models, then the Microsoft Surface Go is definitely worth a look. The 10-inch Surface Go is a more budget-minded alternative to the high-end Surface Pro lineup, packing a smaller display, simpler hardware, and Windows 10S (a pared-down version of the Windows 10 OS). We’re not going to claim it’s the best Surface that money can buy — it’s not — but for around 400 bucks, it’s very, very hard to look this cheap gift horse in the mouth.
The Surface Go is a great option for anyone looking for something a bit smaller than a Surface Pro or for shoppers who want something affordable (be it as a secondary 2-in-1 for travel or a device for basic web browsing and streaming), and the above Microsoft Surface deals make it even sweeter. Microsoft recently released the second-gen Surface Go, and while our review team felt that it was a bit too pricey at launch, it’s another option to consider if you want some hardware upgrades and can find a good deal.

Prime rated low cost Apple Watch offers mixed with gross sales for August 2021

Apple fans are to the brand when they choose a smart watch. The best wrist wearable to pair with the iPhone in your pocket is the Apple Watch. Like all Apple products, however, they don’t come cheap. We rounded up the best Apple Watch deals available right now so you can put one of these sought-after smartwatches on your wrist without having to remortgage your house to cover the cost.
Apple Watch Series 6

Apple announced the launch of the Apple Watch Series 6 at its annual September event. The newest Apple Watch starts at $399 and has a new feature allowing you to measure your blood oxygen levels directly through your watch. This is groundbreaking, considering monitoring blood-oxygen levels can be extremely helpful for mild COVID-19 patients while they stay quarantined at home.
Other new features include a brighter screen when used outside and new, fun watch faces like an Animoji face. The Apple Watch Series 6 even includes family set up so now your kids can have their own Apple Watch numbers and you can track their location if you need to. The Series 6 uses Apple’s latest A13 chip to make your smartwatch 20% faster than previous models.
Apple Watch SE

The Apple Watch SE is a successor to the Apple Watch Series 3. The device retails starting at $279.
The Apple Watch SE has many of the same features from its predecessor including sleep tracking, family setup, fall detection, and being waterproof amongst many others. This version features Apple’s S5 processor making it faster and more powerful than any of its older versions. This affordable smartwatch also runs the latest OS7.
Apple Watch Series 5
Andy Boxall/DigitalTrends
Given the unprecedented success of the original Apple Watch, it’s not really a shock to see that the company kept its popular smart wearable updated each year to keep its enormous lead over the lagging competition. Throughout 2019, we saw the release of a whole bunch of new iOS gadgets, and Apple also revealed the fifth series (which is, somewhat confusingly, actually a sixth-gen refresh) of the Apple Watch at its annual end-of-summer launch event last September.
Although the new iPhone 11 was the biggest start of that Apple showing, smartwatch fans were understandably excited to see the awesome new Apple Watch Series 5 — even if only because the rollout of new devices meant you could expect price cuts on last-gen models like the Series 3 and Series 4 (which are still pretty awesome).
Apple Watch Series 4
Julian Chokkattu/Digital Trends
The fourth series of the Apple Watch is still available for purchase with plenty of sweet deals to be found, and the internet is always abuzz with news about the latest and greatest tech. Our own in-house Apple enthusiasts have spent lots of time with the Apple Watch Series 4 and have lots of great things to say about it, but here’s a quick run-down to get you up to speed:
The Apple Watch Series 4 runs on WatchOS 5 firmware, which features improved fitness- and health-tracking options, a walkie-talkie function, and a podcast app. Both the 44mm and 40mm Apple Watch Series 4 also have an increased screen resolution compared to the Series 3, and the fourth-gen wearable runs on an upgraded Apple S4 chip. The Apple Watch 4 is available from most online retailers, so if you see a Series 4 in your future, the release of the Series 5 and Series 6 make today the perfect time to snatch one up at a discount.
Apple Watch Series 3

The cheapest version of the iOS watch (that you can still easily find new, that is) is the Apple Watch Series 3, which just so happens to pair very nicely with the iPhone X. Released in 2017, the third-gen Apple Watch 3 runs on the then newest S3 chip, which is 70% faster than the S2 and S1P inside previous models. The Apple Watch Series 3 GPS system also works great, and a built-in barometric altimeter adds to the extensive suite of Apple Watch fitness-tracking functions — with everything supported by fantastic battery life. With a heart rate monitor and a myriad of different apps, this watch also doubles as a superb fitness-tracking device comparable or superior to Fitbits.
More Apple

Aside from its variety of different case and wrist strap options, the Series 3 is available in two basic configurations: the standard watch version and one which is capable of cellular network connectivity. This LTE functionality essentially lets you turn your smartwatch into a mini smartphone or iPhone, allowing you to send and receive calls and texts right from your wrist with no synced iPhone needed. The cellular LTE model comes with a boosted 16GB of storage as well. There’s also a whole host of Apple Watch Sport Bands from Nike, stylish leather and metal straps, and other accessories out there that you won’t find at any Apple Store, like the Fog Sport Band, Pink Sand Sport Band, Sport Loop Band, and more.
It used to start at $329 for the non-cellular model and at $399 for the LTE-equipped cellular version, but you can find the Apple Watch Series 3 for much less today, making it easily the best iOS smartwatch for budget-minded Apple fans. They come in Space Gray, Rose Gold, and White, but bear in mind that sometimes the cheapest ones are only available in one color.

Finest low-cost Microsoft Workplace offers for August 2021

Everybody has at least heard of Microsoft Office, and chances are good that you yourself have used it before at school or work. Yet this duty-grade professional software suite offers a lot more than just Word, Excel, and PowerPoint today. Microsoft’s digital toolkit is indispensable for millions of people around the globe, but with several different packages to choose from, choosing the right bundle for your needs (and finding the right deal) is not always so easy. We can help: Below, we’ve got all the best cheap Microsoft Office deals and lowest prices available right now, along with a buying guide to get you started.
Today’s best Microsoft Office deals

Microsoft 365 Personal (1 person, 12-month subscription)

Microsoft Office Professional 2019
— $400, was $440

Microsoft Office 2019
Microsoft Office 2019 is the latest iteration of its classic Office suite. The standard Personal version features Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as its core apps while the Professional version features the same core apps as Microsoft 365, but note that it lacks cloud services like Skype and OneDrive (however, you can get basic versions of these programs for free). Another thing to bear in mind is that your Office 2019 license only allows you to install it on one Windows or MacOS computer at a time — no other devices are supported, and neither are multiple installations across several devices. For that, you will need to upgrade to Microsoft Microsoft 365. The flip-side of that coin is that Microsoft Office 2019 is a “buy once, cry once” affair (once you own it, it’s yours), whereas Microsoft 365 has a monthly subscription fee.
Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365, formerly called Office 365, is the cream of the Microsoft Office crop. This subscription-based suite features everything that Microsoft Office has to offer, including the whole lineup of Office apps along with Microsoft Outlook, Publisher, and Access. You also get the premium OneDrive and Skype cloud services on top of that, and you’re not limited to what devices you’re permitted to use Microsoft 365 on. You can install your copy on any Windows PC, Mac computer, or compatible mobile device that you own (or all of them at the same time if you wish).
You’ll pay for the privilege, though: Microsoft 365 is the most expensive of the bunch, and it comes with a monthly subscription fee, too. Nonetheless, as the most full-featured Office package, Microsoft 365 is hands-down the best choice for professionals, business owners, and other serious users.
A beginner’s guide to Microsoft Office
Before you rush off to buy the best Microsoft Office deal you can find, you’ll first need to decide which particular suite is right for you. There are basically two main products — the standard Microsoft Office and the premium subscription-based Microsoft 365, along with the Personal/Student and Professional versions of these. The Microsoft Office Business/Professional suites include the same core apps as Microsoft 365, but lack cloud support and multi-device compatibility.
Microsoft 365 has some enhanced features like those additional cloud services and multi-device installations, but it’s more expensive and requires a monthly subscription. That said, it’s a better choice for use in a professional environment, and it’s the only one that can be used on mobile devices. You are also not limited to only one device installation at a time as you are with Microsoft Office 2019.
What’s included with Microsoft Office?
Almost everybody is at least vaguely familiar with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, but Microsoft Office has more to offer than word processing and spreadsheets (as important as those are). The Office suites are a bit different and there are also some notable differences with things like cloud services and usage licenses, so a side-by-side breakdown is in order. Here’s everything you get with Microsoft Office 2019 and Microsoft 365:

Included Apps
Cloud Services
Device Limits

Microsoft Office 2019 Personal:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint
None
1 Windows or Mac computer

Microsoft 365:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access
OneDrive, Skype
Unlimited number of computers and devices

Microsoft Office 2019 Professional:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access
None
1 Windows or Mac computer

Does Microsoft Office work on Mac?
Although it’s from the same software company behind the Windows operating system, Microsoft Office is compatible with Mac computers. More good news for Apple heads is that you don’t need a special version of Office for your Mac computer, either: Your Microsoft Office 2019 or Microsoft 365 key is valid for both Windows and Mac versions.
Does Microsoft Office work on Chromebook?
Although it might not be a huge shock to discover that Microsoft Office works on Mac, some might be surprised to see that it’s also available for Chrome OS. However, you can’t run your Windows or Mac desktop version on your Chromebook; instead, you’ll need to head over to the Google Play Store and download the Chrome OS version of Office there.
Can you get Microsoft Office for free?
You can get a free trial of Microsoft 365, but generally speaking, Microsoft Office is not available for free to most users. However, you may be able to get it for free through your school or place of employment, so you may want to check and see if that is an option. If you’re really strapped for cash or if your needs are modest, then you may also consider checking out one of the free Microsoft Office alternatives; if you just love the stability and familiarity of the real thing, though, then one of the above Microsoft Office deals is your best way to save.

Greatest low-cost MacBook offers and gross sales for August 2021

Windows and Chrome OS laptops command the lion’s share of the laptop market, but for Apple fans, there’s only one name in the game: the MacBook. Apple’s beloved and iconic laptops might not outsell all the Windows PC brands combined, but it remains one of the single most popular computers out there, particularly among creatives and professionals. They’re definitely on the more expensive end of the laptop spectrum, though, so to help you find the right one for your budget, we’ve rounded up a hand-picked list of the best cheap MacBook deals available this week.
If you love everything with an Apple logo and you’re hungry for more savings, then also check out these iPhone deals and iPad deals.
Today’s Best MacBook Deals

MacBook Deals

In July 2019, Apple stopped selling the 12-inch MacBook on its website and in its stores, but you can still get it from third-party resellers. There are plenty of reasons to opt for it, too. Compared to the Air, not only is the MacBook’s screen smaller, but the device is also extremely thin and light. It hasn’t been updated since 2017, but it has the modern Mac look, including the large trackpad, butterfly-style keyboard, Retina display, and simplified port selection. Aside from a headphone jack, the laptop comes with just a single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port. That means you can’t plug in a wired mouse and power at the same time, for example, unless you have an adapter.
The most recent version from 2017 received a bump to dual-core, seventh-generation Kaby Lake Intel processors. Like the MacBook Air, we found it to be fast enough to get through a normal day of productivity and web browsing. We’d recommend one of the newer MacBook Airs to most people, but for those who want the absolute smallest, most portable MacBook, this is your best option.
Amazon is currently selling the professionally Renewed and warranty-backed 2017 12-inch MacBook for as low as $589, which gets you an Intel Core m3 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.

MacBook Air Deals

Before 2018, the MacBook Air hadn’t received a serious update for many years. The iconic silver look may have been revolutionary in 2012, but its thick bezels and lower-resolution screen had become outdated over the years. There have thankfully been a couple of revisions since then, but we can still recommend this reasonably recent 2017 model to people who have basic everyday needs and don’t want to shell out for a Pro. Its Intel Core processor and 8GB RAM will ensure it won’t feel too long in the tooth in 2020, even if it isn’t sporting the upgrades of the newer units. It’s also the cheapest way into the MacBook ecosystem, and that alone makes it worth your consideration.
If you’re in the market for a slightly older model and are willing to buy refurbished (in nearly like-new condition and backed by a warranty since it’s Amazon Renewed) so you can save some cash, the 2017 MacBook Air below is going for just $368 at the moment — a steal at this price.

In the middle of 2019, Apple gave the MacBook Air a complete makeover, bringing it up to speed with the rest of its MacBooks. These  2019 and 2020 revisions have a new look — thinner bezels, a smaller chassis, higher-resolution display, USB-C, as well as new color options like gold and space gray. The new MacBook Air also has some of the mainstays of modern Apple laptops such as the low-travel keyboard, oversized trackpad, and Touch ID fingerprint scanner.
The Air saw some hardware updates in 2020 too, including the addition of the newer 10th-gen Intel Core CPUs as well as the introduction of Apple’s own new M1 processor. We found it more than capable of handling day-to-day tasks, just don’t expect to be editing 4K video on it. That said, that MI CPU is pretty amazing and punches well above its weight. It has the best battery life of all the MacBooks, and also comes with the lowest starting price of around $1,000 right now.
If you’re in the market for a new M1 MacBook Air, then you can currently can enjoy a modest but welcome discount off the usual price that knocks it down to $900 (students with a valid .edu address can take another $100, bringing it down further to just $800). This deal gets you the superb new M1 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD — perfect specs for an everyday laptop.

16-inch MacBook Pro Deals

It had been rumored for months, but there was still a sense of excitement when Apple finally unveiled the 16-inch MacBook Pro in mid-November 2019. Many of the rumored features — the higher-resolution display, the new keyboard, and the Navi graphics — proved to be correct.
That means this is the biggest upgrade to the MacBook Pro line since it was redesigned in 2016. It takes features that had become standard in the MacBook Pro 15, like the Touch Bar and USB-C ports, and adds all-new features. For example, you can give it an 8TB SSD, the largest SSD available in any laptop, or if you need a huge amount of memory, there’s a 64GB RAM option. If you’re a pro and need power, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is the one to get.
Right now the new 16-inch MacBook Pro has a haircut that brings its price down to $2,200. You get a 9th-generation 6-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and an AMD Radeon Pro 5300M graphics card. Want some boosted specs? The Core i9 MacBook Pro 16 with 1TB of storage and a Radeon Pro 5500M GPU is on sale for $2,300, saving you $500.

13-inch MacBook Pro Deals
Digital Trends
With its more powerful specs, the MacBook Pro represents the top of the MacBook lineup. These are laptops for people who want to run heavy applications such as Photoshop or Lightroom — or even just for people who want to multitask like nobody’s business. However, there are several important distinctions you should be aware of, even concerning the 13-inch models.
Apple has now added the Touch Bar to all of its recent MacBook Pro models. The Touch Bar is a slim OLED touchscreen that takes the place of the function keys and is purpose-built for navigating MacOS and its software — but it’s admittedly not for everyone, so if you’d prefer a MacBook Pro without it, then you’ll have to opt for a last-gen model from 2017 or earlier.
Right now, you can score has this refurbished 13-inch non-Touch Bar MacBook Pro in renewed condition from 2017. For $584, you get an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, a 128GB SSD (the 256GB model is also on sale if you need a little more storage), and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. It’s a great deal if you want to save yourself some cash by going without the Touch Bar.

Apple updated the 13-inch MacBook Pro in 2019 to come with the latest-generation Intel processors, with slight speed bumps to both the base clock and Turbo Boost speeds. With the MacBook Pro 16 on the market now, prices of last-gen and smaller-sized MacBook Pro models have been slashed.
You can now save hundreds on the 13-inch MacBook Pro complete with Touch Bar from early 2020 by buying this nicely specced unit at a discount that brings its price down to $950. That gives you a quad-core Intel i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256B SSD. The new 2020 MacBook Pro with M1 chips were recently released and we’ll be posting any worthy discounts for those as they appear, but if you want a deal, then buying this still-excellent Intel Core model is the surest way to save right now.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro was given a couple refreshes for 2020. Although innovative, Apple isn’t exactly a company known for re-inventing the wheel — it typically sticks to a good design once it’s found it — and the first 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro update wasn’t an exception to this rule, featuring a very similar overall aesthetic to previous models (outdated bezels and all) with some modest hardware updates under the hood. One major noteworthy upgrade is the new Magic Keyboard, which is fantastic. It’s comfortable, it’s quiet, and it even has a proper escape key this time around. The second update, however, added Apple’s fantastic new M1 CPU to the lineup.
This model packs that eight-core M1 CPU along with 8GB of RAM and a snappy 256GB SSD, pairing what are pretty much ideal specs for an everyday laptop with the sort of quality you’d typically associate with the Pro line. You can grab the new 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro for just $1,100 right now, which is one of the best prices we’ve seen yet for this new model.
